This is a kind of capacitor-run, single-phase induction motor which has characteristics somewhat different from those of induction motor and reversible motor.

When driven at 115V, the duty time is 5 minutes, but, at 70V, the duty is continuous and the motor does not overheat even if the output shaft is locked from outside.

Further, by changing voltage, motor speed and torque change simultaneously, the motor can be kept in continuous running, therefore, at a desirable voltage and torque (at below 70V).

Because this motor puts forth its maximum torque at starting as mentioned above, start, stop and rotation reversing can be done without difficulty.
